Windy can notify you before upcoming 1:1s with context and suggested topics. You control which 1:1s trigger a notification and how far in advance Windy reaches out from your Windy Preferences.

Notification toggles

Enable or disable 1:1 notifications by relationship type:
  • Direct Reports — Notifications for 1:1s with people who report directly to you. Default: Enabled
  • Indirect Reports — Notifications for 1:1s with people further down your reporting chain. Default: Disabled
  • Managers — Notifications for 1:1s with your own manager. Default: Enabled
  • Peers — Notifications for 1:1s with people outside your reporting chain. Default: Disabled

Notification timing

Choose how far in advance Windy reaches out before a 1:1. This applies globally to all your 1:1s. Available options: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 6 hours, 1 day, or 2 days before the meeting.
  • Default: 1 day

Employee overrides

Override notification settings for specific employees. This is useful when you want Windy to always (or never) notify you before 1:1s with a particular person, regardless of your relationship-based defaults.
  • Always On — Windy will always notify you before 1:1s with this person, even if notifications for their relationship type are disabled.
  • Always Off — Windy will never notify you before 1:1s with this person, even if notifications for their relationship type are enabled.
To set an override, click Add Employee Override in the 1:1 Notifications section of your Windy Preferences. You can also set an override directly from an employee’s settings page.
