The Windmill Dashboard is the web platform where you access reports, insights, and settings. This guide covers the essentials you need to get started.

Accessing the dashboard

Log in to the Windmill Dashboard at app.gowindmill.com. You can authenticate using:
  • Google
  • Microsoft
  • Rippling (if your admin has set up the connection)
Use the same authentication method across your entire organization for the best experience.

Dashboard preferences

Dark mode

You can use the Windmill Dashboard in dark mode if you prefer. To enable dark mode:
  1. Click Profile in the bottom left of the platform
  2. Go to My Settings
  3. Select Dark Mode at the bottom
  4. Click Save
Your dark mode preference is saved per device and browser. If you use the dashboard on multiple devices, you’ll need to enable dark mode on each one.

How often data updates

Windmill is always updating in the background to give you a real-time view of team performance. Different systems sync data on different schedules: Real-time:
  • Responses to Windy in Slack
  • New feedback submissions
Hourly:
  • Meeting transcripts
  • Most productivity tool activity (GitHub, Jira, Linear, etc.)
Daily:
  • HRIS data (org chart, employee roster)
  • Some CRM activity
Responses to Windy should populate in the Windmill Dashboard within an hour after they’re sent. For more details about specific integrations and sync timing, see our Connected Data guide. Finding team members Use the search bar at the top to quickly find team members. Click on any team member’s name to view their profile and recent activity. Bookmarking pages You can bookmark specific Windmill Dashboard pages (like a team member’s profile or your 1-on-1 agenda). URLs are shareable with others who have access to the same data. Mobile access The Windmill Dashboard is optimized for desktop use. For mobile access, use Slack to interact with Windy—most Windmill functionality is available via Windy conversations.

Settings

Access platform settings by clicking Settings in the navigation. Here you can:
  • Manage connections to your business tools
  • View and edit your org chart
  • Set up and configure routines
  • Adjust your personal preferences
Only Admins have access to certain settings like managing connections and editing the org chart. For more about access levels, see Permissions and Access.
