Windy features

The Windy features page contains personal settings that control how Windy interacts with you. Each available preference has controls for its supported channels. Emoji reactions are available in Slack. Reasoning visibility is available in Slack and the Windmill Dashboard.

Open Windy features

In the web app

Go to Settings > Windy > Features to view your preferences. The page has separate sections for Slack and platform chat. Use the toggle next to a feature to enable or disable it for that channel.

In Slack

You can also manage your preferences by talking to Windy directly. Open a conversation with Windy and send a request such as: Windy will show your current settings. To make a change, send a request such as:

Emoji reactions

When enabled, Windy adds emoji reactions to your messages in Slack. This gives you quick visual acknowledgment that Windy has seen and processed your message.

• Default: Enabled

Show reasoning

When enabled, Windy’s reasoning and actions are visible to you. Windy always uses reasoning to generate answers. This setting controls whether you can see that reasoning.

• Default: Disabled

1:1 notifications

Control when and how Windy contacts you before your 1:1s. These settings include relationship-based toggles, timing, and per-employee overrides. See 1:1 notifications for the full settings reference.
