Choose how to change an answer
You can refine an answer that you wrote manually or prepared with AutoDraft or Windy. Use the form for direct changes. Use quick edits for a text change that you want to approve first. Use Windy chat to discuss facts, examples, or several answers. Check that the final answer gives your assessment of the work.Use quick edits
Quick edits suggest changes to an existing text answer on the Windmill review page. You can change the complete answer or select part of the text.1
Choose the text
Open the answer you want to change. Select text to change only that part, or leave the text unselected to change the complete answer.

Choose a quick edit
Select Quick edit or Quick edit selection. Choose a command from the menu, or select Custom instructions and describe the change.

Check the suggestion
Read Suggested edit and compare it with the original text. Select Approve to save the change or Reject to keep the original.
- More positive: Adjust the tone to be more positive.
- More direct: Make the feedback more direct.
- Fix spelling and grammar: Correct language errors.
- Clean up writing: Improve the wording.
- Remove AI slop: Remove generic AI-style wording.
- Custom instructions: Specify your own change, then select Apply instructions.
Make direct changes or use chat
Edit the answer field to make a direct correction. Windmill saves the change as a draft. Use Windy chat when the change needs discussion. State which answer to change, what to add or remove, and which facts to keep.Restore or reset answers
Select View answer history above an answer to inspect or restore an earlier version. Select Review actions at the top of the review page for these options:- Restart Review: Clears your saved answers and returns you to the start screen. Earlier answers stay in answer history.
- Reset: Generates new context and keeps your answers. Select what to generate again: Context report, Observations, or Resend Chat. New context can take up to 30 minutes.
