Add comments to a packet
Participants can comment on any visible manager-review question, including text questions that cannot be edited. When helpful, select part of a written answer so the comment stays connected to the exact evidence under discussion. Use comments to:- Ask for missing evidence or context
- Explain why a rating may need to change
- Capture a question for the live session
- Record a committee decision
- Give the manager actionable follow-up
Reply to and resolve comments
Participants can reply within a comment thread. Facilitators can resolve or reopen a thread when the committee has answered the question or when it should not be sent to the manager. Committee members can reply and delete their own comments, but they cannot resolve a thread. Resolved comments remain part of the calibration record but are not included when unresolved comments are shared during submission. If some comments should remain internal, resolve them before submitting.Propose an answer change
Facilitators can propose changes to supported structured questions from People, Grid, or Table. In People, choose the new answer beside the question. In Grid, move the reviewee along an editable axis. In Table, supported cells can be changed inline. Each action creates a proposed change that appears in Discussion and History. Text answers and other answers without a defined set of choices cannot be edited in calibration. Leave a comment if the manager should revise written feedback.Review changes in Discussion
Open Discussion to see comment threads and proposed answer changes together. Filter the panel to focus on unresolved conversations or a specific reviewee. Before submission, facilitators review every pending answer change grouped by reviewee. Windmill checks the current manager review value again when the calibration is submitted so the facilitator can catch unexpected changes.Use comments in live and async workflows
Live session
One facilitator controls the answer changes while committee members add comments or context. Resolve internal discussion as decisions are made, and leave manager-facing follow-up open.Async review
Ask participants to review an assigned group by a deadline. Use comment replies to reach a decision, then have a facilitator make the agreed answer change. Review unresolved threads before submission.FAQs
