Notifications
Pulse notifications are configured separately from participant reminders — they control how you (and others) get updates about the Pulse. Slack DMs to the creator are on by default, while all after-completion notifications are off by default. To configure notifications, open your Pulse and go to Settings → Notifications. While running — Slack DMs
Enable Slack DMs to receive updates from Windy in Slack while the Pulse is active. Windy sends messages directly to the Pulse creator with progress updates as responses come in.After completion — Slack channels
Enable Slack Channels to send a notification to one or more Slack channels when the Pulse is complete. The message includes a summary and a link to the full Pulse report. After completion — Email
Enable Email to send Pulse results by email when the Pulse is complete. You can configure two settings: who receives the email and what content it includes. Recipients Choose who should receive the email:- Owners — Sends the email to the Pulse creator.
- Specific email addresses — Sends to a custom list of email addresses.
- Participants — Sends the email to everyone who participated in the Pulse. Only available if participant sharing is turned on.
- Managers — Sends the email to all managers of participants. Only available if manager sharing is turned on. Each manager only sees the responses they have access to.
- Link only — A link to the Pulse report with no additional content.
- Summary only — Includes the AI-generated summary of the Pulse results.
- Responses only — Includes the individual responses without the summary.
- Summary and responses — Includes both the summary and all responses.
Live response streaming
Live response streaming posts Pulse responses to a Slack channel in real time — as each person completes the survey, their answers appear in the channel. How it works
When you enable live response streaming, Windy posts an announcement to your chosen Slack channel when the first response comes in. Each subsequent response is posted along with a running progress count (e.g., “3/10 responded (30%)”). Each response includes the respondent’s name and their full answers, formatted for easy reading.Threaded vs. unthreaded
By default, live responses are posted in a thread under the initial announcement message. This keeps the channel tidy by grouping all responses together. If you’d prefer each response to appear as a separate message in the channel, you can turn off threading when creating or editing your Pulse. Unthreaded mode makes responses more visible since they appear directly in the channel feed rather than tucked inside a thread.Setting it up
Select a Slack channel for live response streaming when creating or editing your Pulse. Windy needs to be a member of the channel to post responses.Live response streaming is only available for named Pulses. If your Pulse is set to anonymous, this option won’t be available — respondent identity is protected.
