Admins and HR Admins can configure company Feedback settings. The settings described here are available when the Feedback page is enabled for your company.

Open Feedback settings

Open Settings > Feedback. You can also open Feedback actions > Configure feedback settings from the Feedback page. If your company does not have the Feedback page enabled, the settings page shows the earlier Feedback controls.

Configure audience options

1

Select allowed options

Under Visibility options, enable the audiences that members can select when they give feedback. At least one option must remain enabled.
2

Select the default option

Select an enabled audience under Default option. If you disable the current default, Windmill selects another enabled option.
3

Check the saved settings

Changes save automatically. Check the success message after each change.
The author retains access. Admins and HR Admins can read feedback about other people. If a recipient has no manager, they can read Manager only and Manager hierarchy feedback about themselves. See Feedback visibility for the complete access rules. The Leave feedback form starts with the default option. Members can change it to another allowed option. The Request feedback form uses the default without an audience control. The person who responds can select an allowed audience. When several options are available, Windy asks the author to select one before final confirmation. When only one option is available, Windy uses that option.

Configure the edit time limit

Under Editing > Edit window, select one of these values:
  • No editing
  • 1 hour
  • 24 hours
  • 7 days
Changes save automatically.
The Feedback page does not currently provide edit or delete controls. The current Windy and MCP edit and delete tools use a limit of one week, regardless of this setting. Do not use this setting to enforce a shorter limit through those tools.
Feedback linked to a delivered Shoutout cannot be edited or deleted through those tools.

Introduce the settings to your team

Tell members which audiences are available and what the default audience permits. Explain that creating a Shoutout makes linked feedback public. Use Introduce Feedback to Your Team for team communication. Use Feedback for instructions on giving and requesting feedback.
