One on Ones

Here is a Loom to walk you through the One on One routine

Why Use the One-on-One Routine?

One-on-ones are most effective when both the manager and employee come prepared. Without preparation, meetings often get spent just recapping recent work instead of discussing priorities, challenges, and growth.

The One-on-One Routine ensures that:

  • Agendas are clear before the meeting begins.

  • Context is aggregated from across your workflows (goals, blockers, priorities, feedback, etc.).

  • Both parties enter the meeting informed, so time is spent on meaningful discussion.

How It Works

  1. Pre-Meeting Check-In

    • Set a time before a scheduled one-on-one and Windy (your AI teammate) will send the employee a message in Slack to collect agenda items.

    • The message prompts the employee to share topics they’d like to discuss, along with additional context.

  2. Agenda Creation

    • Windy collects these responses and builds the one-on-one agenda.

    • Select the time before the meeting, who a manager receives the full agenda directly in Slack.

    • The agenda outlines employee-requested topics plus additional insights gathered by Windy.

  3. Context Aggregation

    • Windy enriches the agenda with helpful background information, pulling from connected systems such as GitHub, Slack, and other Windmill routines.

    • All items include citations, showing where the data came from.

  4. In the Meeting

    • Armed with the agenda and context, managers and employees can focus on problem-solving, coaching, and strategic conversations.

    • No more spending the first half of the meeting on status updates.
