FAQ's - Routines
If I add someone as an owner to a routine, what do they get notified about?
If you add an owner, they are notified about the final report but do not necessarily get notified every time the form is filled out. Owners receive notifications for report generation, not each individual submission unless configured.
Can I ensure everyone in a recurring staff meeting automatically receives the routine-generated report before the meeting (e.g., via email or Slack), to help prep in advance?
Yes. When setting up a routine, you can configure visibility to include everyone in the relevant group. Once the routine runs and the report is generated, the results are available in each member's account, and they can get a Slack notification from Windy. This allows for pre-meeting prep based on the automated report, turning status meetings into more productive sessions.
Which routines utilize integrations with existing business systems, and which rely solely on communications in Slack?
The two routines that utilize data from integrations are Recaps and Continuous Feedback. The rest of the routines rely on information in Slack.
Do Windmill’s routines have to work within the bounds of the org chart? Can I set up custom groups or feedback loops?
Yes, you can set up groups and feedback loops outside the strict org chart. For example, you can deploy a feedback routine to a manager's direct reports without the manager being able to see the responses.
Can I edit the visibility and recipients of a routine after it’s created?
Yes, you can edit visibility settings and other parameters of routines after creation. Changes will go into effect for the following routine run.
If I were to make a survey or routine anonymous, would respondents be aware of that?
Yes, it would mention in the subtext of the routine during set up, and then Windy will clarify via Slack that responses are anonymous.
