# Monday

> Connect monday.com to Windmill to bring boards, items, and project progress into recaps, 1:1 prep, and performance reviews with per-person attribution.

## Benefits of connecting Monday to Windmill

Connecting Monday to Windmill brings your project management activity directly into performance reviews and 1:1s — giving your team credit for real work without manual updates.

Windmill turns your Monday boards into structured insights for better performance management.

## Setup

Monday requires a two-step setup process that's different from other integrations. You'll need to install the Windmill app to your Monday account before connecting.

    Navigate to [Integrations](https://app.gowindmill.com/COMPANY/config/integrations) in Windmill and select **Monday**. Click **Install Windmill** to add the app to your Monday account.

    During installation, you'll choose which workspaces to connect:

    * **All workspaces** — Windmill can access all current and future workspaces
    * **Specific workspaces** — Select individual workspaces to sync

That's it. Windmill will begin syncing tasks from all boards in your connected workspaces.

Windmill syncs tasks and related activity from all boards in your connected Monday workspaces.

### Sync frequency

Windmill syncs Monday data **every hour**. Tasks, comments, and status changes appear in Windmill shortly after the hourly sync runs.

## Permissions

Windmill requests **read-only** access to Monday.

    No. Windmill is read-only — no updates, edits, or writes are made to your Monday boards or tasks.

    During installation, you choose which workspaces to connect. Windmill syncs all boards within those workspaces. Currently, you cannot filter individual boards — the sync includes all boards in connected workspaces.

    Monday data syncs every hour. New tasks, comments, and status changes will appear in Windmill after the next hourly sync runs.

  <Accordion title="What happens if someone is reassigned or leaves the company?">
    Windmill preserves historical contributions tied to that person's work in Monday. Once they're marked inactive in Windmill, new tasks won't be associated with them.
