# Nudge participants

> Send a manual reminder to people who have not responded to a pulse run.

A nudge is a manual reminder. Windy sends it to the person in their pulse chat. Use it when you want a response before the run expires.

Windy also sends [automatic reminders](/features/pulse-surveys/reminders). Nudges do not replace or stop them.

## Who can nudge

* Only owners with edit access can send nudges.
* The pulse must be active. You cannot nudge on a paused, completed, or archived pulse.
* You can nudge only people who got the run and have not responded.
* You can nudge each person once every 15 minutes.

## Send a nudge

    Open the pulse and select the **Runs** tab. Select a run to open its details. To open the run on its own page, select the **View Run** icon.

    The run lists each participant. People who have not responded show **No response**.

    Select **Nudge** next to the person. The button changes to **Sent**.

After you nudge someone, the run shows when they were last nudged. If you try again too soon, **Nudge** shows **Just nudged, you can nudge again in** and the number of minutes.

## Anonymous pulses

The **Nudge** button does not show on anonymous pulses. Automatic reminders still go out to people who have not responded. See [Named and anonymous pulses](/features/pulse-surveys/named-and-anonymous-pulses).

## Ask Windy to nudge

You can ask Windy to nudge people for you. Windy finds the run and the people who have not responded, then sends the nudges.

The same rules apply. Windy nudges only people who have not responded, and skips anyone you nudged in the last 15 minutes.
