# Managers, skip-level managers, and HRBPs

> Understand manager, skip-level manager, HRBP, and delegated access.

## Assigned managers

Managers can write and submit only the manager reviews assigned to them. They can read internal packets for employees below them in the reporting hierarchy saved for the cycle.

A later org chart change does not reassign the review task or update that saved hierarchy.

## Skip-level managers

Skip-level managers can read review status and internal packets for people below them in the saved reporting line. Packets can include manager, self, peer, and upward reviews.

The manager team view does not show upward rows. Upward feedback can still appear in an individual packet you can access and in the cycle-admin view.

Access through the reporting line does not let you read private review content about yourself.

## HR business partners and delegates

Human resources business partner (HRBP) access can be configured through delegation. Delegation uses the current org chart to determine the employees covered.

There is no separate HRBP role within a cycle. Delegation can give access to selected manager feedback views and shared manager-review packets for people within that reporting line.

Delegation does not grant cycle-admin access, internal packets based on the saved cycle hierarchy, a manager-review writing assignment, or calibration membership.

## Access after a manager change

Internal packet access continues to use the saved cycle reporting line. The assigned manager keeps the writing task until a cycle admin reassigns it.

Reassigning the primary review archives the old assignment, creates or restores the replacement's work, and updates the saved cycle manager.

A new manager in the current org chart can gain access to manager-facing shared packets through that reporting line. The org chart change alone does not give them the internal cycle packet or review-writing task.
