# Cycle admins

> Assign cycle admins and understand their responsibilities and access.

## Cycle management access

Admins and HR Admins can create review cycles. The person who creates a cycle becomes its first cycle admin.

Cycle-admin access applies to one cycle. An Admin or HR Admin does not automatically get management access to every cycle. They must also be a cycle admin for the cycle they want to manage.

## Add or remove cycle admins

A cycle admin can add any active workspace member as another cycle admin. Add more than one admin when several people need to manage the cycle.

The original creator stays marked as **Creator** and cannot be removed. A cycle admin also cannot remove themselves. They can remove another cycle admin who is not the creator. Removing an admin does not change the cycle or its review data.

## What cycle admins can do

Cycle admins can change a cycle's review work and results. Give this role only to people who need it.

Two roles control access. The **Admin** and **HR Admin** roles are account roles. The **cycle admin** role applies to one cycle only.

An Admin or HR Admin who is not a cycle admin cannot open or manage the cycle. To manage it, a current cycle admin must add them.

## Limits on cycle admins

* **Feedback about themselves:** If a cycle admin is also a reviewee, Windmill hides the peer, upward, and manager feedback about them from their admin view. Their self review is not hidden.
* **Calibrations:** Cycle-admin access does not include calibration access. Add the person to a calibration when they need to see or manage it.
* **Deleted cycles:** When a cycle admin deletes a cycle, Windmill deletes all its reviews, progress, and calibrations. You cannot undo this.
